NEW DELHI: Unfazed by Congress rejection of her three candidates, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today said former President A P J Abdul Kalam is her nominee for the Presidential poll.


"We are for Kalam," Banerjee told PTI when asked whether she would support Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee or Vice President Hamid Ansari, believed to be the two first and the second choices of the Congress.


Her party MP Kunal Ghosh went a step further, saying if Congress fields Mukherjee or Ansari, Trinamool will "contest" the election with Kalam as its nominee. "I can visualise a contest if Congress goes ahead with the names of Pranab Mukherjee or Hamid Ansari...If Congress names either Pranab Mukherjee or Ansari, then TMC will contest... Trinamool Congress or Samajwadi Party then may go with A P J Abdul Kalam," he said.


Trinamool Congress, which has teamed up with Samajwadi Party, floated the names of Kalam, along with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee yesterday as a counter to UPA's nominee.


Congress today rejected their candidature.
At the same time, Mamata made it clear that she would not quit the UPA of her own or topple the government, Ghosh said. He claimed that Mamata had not breached any trust by disclosing the names of Mukherjee and Ansari discussed with her by Sonia Gandhi yesterday, saying that it was done with the "consent" and "permission" of the Congress chief. "Yesterday Mamata had gone to meet Sonia Gandhi to discuss Presidential candidate and after the discussion Mamata asked Sonia whether she could disclose (names) to media standing outside.... And Sonia gave her the consent. That is what exactly she did," Ghosh said.


He went on to claim that Mamata "took permission" of Gandhi on disclosing the names discussed at their meeting.


Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress chief she would not attend Friday's UPA meeting on deciding a presidential candidate. "I am not here (tomorrow Friday) as I had said that I will wait for 26 hours and I am returning after meeting (Samajwadi Party chief)Mulayam Singh (Yadav)," she told reporters ahead of the meeting

अवैध खनन के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने वाले भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के अधिकारी नरेंद्र कुमार की ट्रैक्टर से कुचलकर हत्या करने के मुख्य आरोपी मनोज गुर्जर को जिला न्यायालय ने तीन दिन के लिए केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) की हिरासत में भेज दिया.
मुरैना के बानमोर में तैनात आईपीएस अधिकारी नरेंद्र कुमार की होली के दिन टैक्टर से कुचलकर हत्या कर दी गई थी. राज्य सरकार ने इस मामले की जांच सीबीआई से कराने की सहमति दे दी है.
सीबीआई का दल पिछले तीन दिनों से मुरैना में है और वह मौका मुआयना करने के अलावा कई अधिकारियों से इस मुद्दे पर चर्चा भी कर चुका है. इसी क्रम में सीबीआई ने जिला न्यायालय में आवेदन कर आरोपी मनोज को रिमांड पर देने की मांग की. आवेदन को स्वीकार करते हुए न्यायालय ने गुर्जर को तीन दिन के लिए सीबीआई को सौंप दिया है.

आईपीएस नरेंद्र कुमार की हत्या के पीछे खनन माफिया नहीं: सीबीआई

                                                          


मध्यप्रदेश में युवा आईपीएस अफसर नरेंद्र कुमार के कथित हत्याकांड में एक अदालत में आरोप पत्र पेश करते हुए सीबीआई ने अहम खुलासा या कि यह मामला हत्या का नहीं, बल्कि गैर इरादतन हत्या का है.
सूबे के सियासी माहौल को गरमाने वाली इस सनसनीखेज वारदात के पीछे जांच एजेंसी को खनन माफिया या राजनीतिक बिरादरी की संदिग्ध साजिश का कोई सबूत नहीं मिला है.
प्रथम श्रेणी न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट सुमन श्रीवास्तव के सामने हत्याकांड के इकलौते आरोपी मनोज गुर्जर के खिलाफ दाखिल आरोप पत्र में सीबीआई की जांच के नतीजों से परदा उठा.
सीबीआई ने गुर्जर के खिलाफ भारतीय दंड विधान की धारा 304 (गैर इरादतन हत्या), धारा 353 (सरकारी कारिंदे को अपने कर्तव्य से डिगाने के लिये आपराधिक बल प्रयोग) और मोटर व्हीकल एक्ट की धारा 181 (सहपठित धारा 3) के तहत आरोप लगाये हैं.
गुर्जर पर आरोप है कि उसने मुरैना जिले में आठ मार्च को ट्रैक्टर ट्रॉली से कुमार को कुचल दिया, जब वर्ष 2009 बैच के आईपीएस अफसर ने उसे पत्थर से लदा वाहन रोकने को कहा था.
खनिज माफिया के इशारे पर कुमार की हत्या के आरोपों को लेकर मचे सियासी बवाल के फौरन बाद प्रदेश सरकार ने मामले की जांच सीबीआई को सौंप दी थी.
आईपीएस अफसर की विधवा और भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) की अधिकारी मधुरानी तेवतिया ने भी कथित हत्याकांड के बाद मांग की थी कि प्रकरण की जांच सीबीआई से करायी जानी चाहिये.

'मोदी PM उम्मीदवार, तो आडवाणी से सहानुभूति'

                                      

कांग्रेस महासचिव दिग्विजय सिंह ने शनिवार को कहा कि यदि गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी को वर्ष 2014 में होने वाले लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार घोषित किया जाता है तो कांग्रेस को इसमें कोई समस्या नहीं होगी.
सिंह ने शनिवार को यहां संवाददाताओं से चर्चा करते हुए कहा कि यदि भाजपा द्वारा 2014 में होने वाले लोकसभा चुनावों में मोदी को प्रधानमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार घोषित किया जाता है तो मेरी सहानुभूति लालकृष्ण आडवाणी, सुषमा स्वराज और अरुण जेटली के साथ रहेगी.
एक प्रश्न के उत्तर में सिंह ने भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता संजय जोशी के साथ भी सहानुभूति व्यक्त की जिनके मोदी के साथ अच्छे संबंध नहीं रहे.
सिंह ने कहा कि जोशी को पहले सी. डी कांड में फंसाया गया और उसके बाद भी भाजपा में उनके साथ ठीक व्यवहार नहीं हुआ.
एक अन्य प्रश्न के उत्तर में सिंह ने जोशी को कांग्रेस में लिये जाने से इंकार किया. उन्होने कहा कि संजय जोशी को कांग्रेस में लेने का सवाल ही नहीं है.

20 करोड़ का फ्लैट खरीद सलमान ने किया ब्‍लैक मनी को व्हाइट!

अभिनेता सलमान खान बाजार भाव से करीब 6 गुने अधिक कीमत पर बांद्रा इलाके में फ्लैट खरीद कर विवाद में फंस गये हैं। पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी वाय.पी. सिंह ने सलमान पर बिल्डर के साथ मिलकर नॉन एफएसआई घोटाला करने का आरोप लगाया है।

सिंह ने गुरुवार को मराठी पत्रकार संघ में प्रेस कांफ्रेंस लेकर आरोप लगाया कि सलमान खान ने बांद्रा (प.) स्थित बुलोक कार्ट रोड पर ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत में 1079 वर्ग फुट का जो फ्लैट खरीदा है। उसके लेन-देन में मनी लॉन्ड्रींग हुई है।

उन्होंने बताया कि सलमान ने ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत में 1,80,000 रुपये वर्गफुट के हिसाब से 1079 वर्ग फुट का फ्लैट ख्ररीदा है। इस फ्लैट के लिए उन्होंने करीब 20 करोड़ रुपये की भारी-भरकम राशि अदा की है जबकि ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत में फ्लैट 20 से 30 हजार रुपये वर्गफुट से हिसाब से बिक रहे हैं।

सिंह ने आरोप लगाया है कि बहुत संभव है कि सलमान ने किसी के ब्लैक मनी को वाइट करने के मकसद से करीब 4 करोड़ रुपये के फ्लैट के लिए 6 गुना अधिक यानी 20 करोड़ रुपये चुकाये हैं।

लिहाजा पुलिस को इस पूरे लेन-देन की बारीकी से जांच करना चाहिए। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया है कि सलमान और बिल्डर ने सांठगांठ करके गार्डन, स्विमिंग पूल आदि नॉन एफएसआई एरिया की खरीद-फरोख्त करने के घोटाले को अंजाम दिया है।

सीआरजेड कानून का हुआ उल्लंघन
पूर्व आईपीएस अधिकारी वाय.पी. सिंह ने अभिनेता सलमान खान पर आरोप लगाने के साथ साथ ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत का निर्माण करने वाले समुद्रा डेवलपर भी तोहमत मढी है। उन्होंने बताया कि ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत का निर्माण 9 हजार वर्गफुट जमीन पर हो रहा है।

कोस्टल रेग्युलेटरी जोन (सीआरजेड) के नियमानुसार इस इमारत की ऊंचाई सिर्फ चार या पांच मंजिला होनी चाहिए, परंतु नियमों का उल्लंघन करते हुए इसे 80 मीटर ऊंचा यानी करीब 28 मंजिला बनाई जा रही है। लगे हाथ सिंह ने ‘दी एड्रेस’ इमारत के निर्माण के लिए दी गई जीआरजेड की अनुमति में भी गड़बड़झाला होने की बात कही है।

 

फिल्म के सेट पर आ धमका खूंखार चीता, मच गया हड़कंप

                                                                   विशाल भारद्वाज की फिल्म  ‘एक  डायन’ के सेट पर शुक्रवार को एक खास मेहमान बिन-बुलाए ही पहुंच गया। उसके पहुंचते ही सेट पर हड़कंप मच गया।

दरअसल फिल्म सिटी में लगे सेट पर कहीं से एक चीता आ गया और अफरा-तफरी मच गई। बहुत देर तक हुए हंगामे के बाद फॉरेस्ट अफसरों ने चीते को काबू में किया। सेट पर मौजूदा सूत्र के मुताबिक ‘पहले तो चीते पर किसी की नजर ही नहीं गई।

चीता डायरेक्टर कन्नन अय्यर के बहुत करीब पहुंच गया था। कोंकणा सेन, कल्की और इमरान इस दिन शूटिंग नहीं कर रहे थे। चीते को सामने देख सब भाग गए।

सुरक्षित स्थान पर पहुंचने के बाद फॉरेस्ट अधिकारियों को फोन किया गया और उन्होंने आकर हालात संभाले। यह किस्सा जब इमरान को सुनाया तो उन्होंने मजाक में कहा ‘वह डायन से मिलने आया होगा!’

 

Baba Ramdev threatens to launch agitation from August 9

Chandigarh: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has threatened to launch a mass agitation from August 9 if the UPA government did not take effective steps for establishment of a strong Lokpal and bringing back black money stashed abroad.

"The government is not taking result-oriented steps to bring back black money. It is also not doing enough for setting up an effective Lokpal to rein in corruption. They will have to do these two things. Otherwise on August 9, we will launch a stir with support of crores of people of this country," Baba Ramdev said.

The date announced coincides with Quit India movement which was launched on August 9, 1942.

"We will only relent when the black money will come back and the country gets a strong Lokpal. Otherwise, I am ready to pay with my life," he said in Chandigarh.

The August 9 stir would be "100 times bigger" than what the country witnessed at Ram Lila ground, Baba Ramdev said.

"It will be a fight to the finish, a decisive battle. I can only say we will fight even if we have to give up our life for the nation and its people."

The yoga guru went round the Rock Garden, made of common household and other waste material, and met its creator Nek Chand.

Earlier, the Yoga guru had a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Lashing out at the UPA government, Baba Ramdev said, "It is not taking effective steps to bring back black money. Not a single rupee will come back from the steps the government is taking."

He said the treaties which India had with other nations would not help in bringing back black money.

On coal block allocation, Baba Ramdev said, "50 billion tonnes of coal were given at throwaway prices to some private companies. This amounts to deceiving the country."

On the functioning of CBI, he said, "Barring one or two occasions, the CBI has worked as a puppet of the government."

"The ruling party uses the CBI to terrorise opposition leaders. Till it is made completely free, no probe carried by it can be fair."

On his meeting with Nek Chand, Baba Ramdev said, "I have travelled around the world from Japan to Middle East to Europe, but Nek Chand has done special work."

Chief Minister Badal assured full support to Baba Ramdev on his proposed stir from August 9 to bring back black money stashed abroad.

Interacting with mediapersons along with the yoga guru, Mr Badal said the Centre had hardly taken any step to bring the black money which could be utilised for funding welfare schemes for the poor.

The SAD patriarch told Baba Ramdev that his party MPs would take up the issue in the upcoming session of Parliament.

Baba Ramdev has been on a politician-meeting spree for the last one week including members of both the ruling alliance and the Opposition.
